Sense Notetaker v8.0 Release

HIMS is proud to announce the release of the much anticipated v8.0 firmware for the Braille Sense and Voice Sense notetakers.

This release features several new programs and major enhancements to existing applications.

·        Our new Quick Browser will significantly enhance your web experience.

·        Follow your favorite websites, news feeds, and podcasts with our RSS reader.

·        Share your files with other devices and other people with our new Dropbox application.

·        Learn a new skill or listen to a live performance by your favorite musician with our new YouTube application.

·        Easily navigate and analyze complex spread sheets with our Excel Viewer.  (Note: YouTube and Excel Viewer are available only for the U2 and U2 QWERTY.)

This release also features major enhancements to Twitter, the ability to share files over a network and the ability to set font type, size, and attributes in the Word Processor. In addition, the notetaker has a whole new look and feel with our reorganized menu structure. And that’s not all. HIMS Announces v8.0 Firmware Upgrade for Braille Sense and Voice Sense Notetakers

HIMS has announced the upcoming firmware, v8.0 for the Braille Sense and Voice Sense notetakers to be released at the end of March 2013.  The update contains five (5) new and innovative programs, several major improvements, as well as fixes and enhancements based on beta tests and customer requests.

As always, this firmware upgrade from HIMS is FREE for all Braille Sense and Voice Sense notetaker users.  All features will be available for Braille Sense U2 and U2 QWERTY.  YouTube, Dropbox and Excel Viewer will not be available to Braille Sense OnHand, Voice Sense and Voice Sense QWERTY users due to hardware limitations on these models.  Braille Sense Classic doesn’t support v8.0 at all.

June 1st, 2012 HIMS Releases v7.0 Upgrade for Braille Sense and Voice Sense

HIMS is excited to announce the long-awaited release of v7.0 firmware upgrade for Braille Sense and Voice Sense products!!

Keeping ahead of the competition, v7.0 is the second firmware upgrade released in 2012.  But, don’t be surprised if HIMS releases a third firmware upgrade for Braille Sense and Voice Sense models in 2012.  Consumers keep offering suggestions and our technical staff has even more new ideas.

The FREE firmware upgrade policy is a key reason why consumers keep buying, schools keep purchasing for their students and rehab counselors keep buying for their clients! Not only does HIMS offer user progressive upgrades, but they save them money!!

 This release features two new and exciting applications:

  • Google Maps
  • Direct Bookshare Search and download application

Additional features include:

  • Support for IMAP email and an EML viewer in the File Manager, allowing direct viewing of email messages from the File Manager
  • Password Protected Files, the ability to create password protected files
  • View formatting of Word documents in the Word Processor
  • Read/Write support for French, Italian and German languages ,as well as support for the Italian and French bilingual dictionaries
  • Supports Nemeth Braille entry in to the calculator and the ability to perform fractional arithmetic.
