FREE Update for ZoomText 10.1, Version 10.11.18

A FREE update for ZoomText 10.1, version 10.11.18, is now available.  This update provides support for installing and running ZoomText 10.1 in Windows 10 Creators Update.

Note: This fix requires that your installation of Windows 10 Creator Update has received the 1704D service update (from Microsoft), which is scheduled for release this month (May 2017).

This ZoomText 10.11.8 update also provides the following fixes:

  • ZoomText’s preference settings are preserved when reinstalling ZoomText over an existing installation.
  • Fixes crashes that occurred in various applications when StormShield antiviral software was active.
  • Fixes incorrect reporting of the active tab in Internet Explorer 11 when using ZoomText scripting.
  • Fix for keyboard and mouse events appearing out of sync after exiting ZoomText.
  • Added a program preference setting that unloads the “Ai Squared Magnification” service when exiting.

To get the 10.11.8 update, go to the ZoomText 10.1 toolbar and choose Help > Check for Updates.  This will launch the update wizard and walk you through the installation.  If you prefer, you can also download the full ZoomText 10.11.8 installer from the product updates page.  Be sure to download the installer that matches your license type.

Audio Notetaker (New):

Most college content, despite advancements in digital technology is still conveyed through class lecture, which necessitates note-taking by students. Typically, colleges and universities provide note-taking accommodations through an in-class note-taker, who may be a volunteer or student who is paid for providing a copy of his/her notes. Recruiting student note-takers can be a tremendous challenge, and payment for notes can be an expensive endeavor.  The Audio Notetaker by Sonocent is a new approach to traditional notetaking and provides a cost-effective tool that empowers all students to take more effective notes! ATR not only provides Audio Noteaker but training and setup by a certified Audio Notetaker trainer.  Free Introduction to Audio Notetaker Webinar available at http://www.adaptivetr.com/webinars.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking:

Dragon NaturallySpeaking  Professional speech recognition software lets users create documents and control their PC by voice – three times faster than typing – to drive productivity and cost savings. Create or modify documents, manage email, search the Web, or automate business processes.  Even dictate into a digital voice recorder or compatible iOS device and Dragon will transcribe the audio files.  ATR offers 5 User Lab Packs at a great price for schools, maintenance or upgrades to software currently owned by your school.

ZoomText Magnifier Screen Reader:

ZoomText 10.1 for Windows 8 is here, offering support for the Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems.  It’s compatible with Office 2013 and Internet Explorer 10, offers faster performance when viewing videos or playing games, includes smooth enhancements, additional magnification levels, and more!  ATR can provide Network and District wide licenses, upgrades to current software and Enhanced Service Packages.

 CCTVs and Video Magnification:

ATR has a variety of video magnification solutions to fit the individual’s needs including tabletop CCTVs, rotating cameras, portable video magnifiers, iPad applications and handheld magnifiers.  Also available, reading machines read text out loud for students with low vision.
