At ATR, we are dedicated to helping individuals of all abilities achieve their goals and pursue independence.

Established in 1995, Adaptive Technology Resources (ATR) was founded with the mission to serve individuals with unique physical & mental barriers by providing the necessary tools for success. ATR has been providing solutions to schools, agencies, businesses, and individuals for over 20 years. We take pride in serving our community by developing individualized, complete solution packages that are cost effective and designed to allow our clients to quickly and efficiently achieve their specific goals!

ATR provides comprehensive evaluations, recommendations, and outcome based solutions to support vocational, IEP, and personal goals.

Assessments are conducted by our licensed occupational therapists and all training is provided by ATR’s certified trainers.

Assisting Schools

ATR assists schools in finding effective solutions for students by way of assistive technology consultation, student evaluation, AT product sales, and AT implementation. ATR partners with Colleges, Universities, and K-12 Districts to help ensure that the investment in AT is not only a proper fit, but also a success!

Whether there are needs for an individual student, teacher, group of students, or for an entire campus; ATR is equipped to serve your specific areas of need.

In the Workplace

ATR works directly with businesses, job coaches, DVR counselors, and other involved parties to serve job seekers, existing employees, and employers! ATR is able to provide onsite job analyses with detailed evaluation reports. Our evaluations are adjusted to suit anyone’s unique needs related to workspace accessibility, ergonomic positioning, energy conservation, work simplification, chronic pain, visual access, etc. Our goals in the workplace are to remove employee barriers, increase efficiency, and improve overall workplace access. ATR is ready to work with you to achieve your goals in the workplace on an individual or corporate level.

In Your Home

Your home is a place of relaxation and should be an environment without barrier. ATR specializes in making homes accessible in every aspect. We are able to evaluate homes (single or multi-unit) and provide real solutions at affordable prices. Our solutions are created while taking your physical and financial needs into account. We are able to offer a range of solutions from simple (adapted utensils for home use) to complex (voice activation of lights, television, telephone, doors, computer systems, etc.) ATR works together with trusted, qualified contractors to assure we can provide a safe and complete solution to suit your unique needs!

The 9th Annual Wisconsin VisionWalk – May 21st!

VisionWalk has raised over $43 million to fund sight-saving research since its beginnings in 2006.  The need for research funding is greater than ever as promising treatments move into critical human studies.

Come join the tens of thousands of people who have helped raise money for a cure by participating in a 5K VisionWalk on Sunday May 21st at the beautiful Veterans Park at the Lagoon in Milwaukee.

Senior Health and Wellness Fair

Come visit ATR’s own Gabe DeLeon at the Senior Health and Wellness Fair on Tuesday, May 16th from 9am to 12pm at The Chopin at Wilson Commons (1400 W Sonata Drive, Milwaukee).  This event is free to attend and provides for a great opportunity to meet and talk with local health and wellness professionals.  A healthy lunch will be available to purchase for just $5.  The first 25 attendees will also receive a goodie bag and complimentary glass of fruit infused water.

REUNION: Getting Back Together!

The National Federation of the Blind Wisconsin will be holding it’s 42nd Annual Convention this weekend (April 7-9th) at the Holiday Inn Pewaukee Milwaukee West.  ATR’s own Rick Ziller and Gabe DeLeon will be there exhibiting our line of Low Vision and Blindness Products including the OrCam and NuEyes wearable products.  ATR will also have side by side tables with HIMS at the convention, and they will have the new Polaris!

ATR offers VizZle® – a unique web based software for diverse learners

Adaptive Technology Resources, Inc. in collaboration with Monarch Teaching Technologies, is happy to announce partnership of providing schools with a web-based special education software for all learners. VizZle® is a unique, evidence-based and developed with Special Education in Mind.

 

VizZle was developed in collaboration with the Monarch Center for Autism and Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, based on their research on visual learning for students with autism and special needs. VizZle provides a library of over 15,000 lessons and the tools and media to customize them or create your own. The content can be tailored to any grade level, assigned to any student, played on any tablet, laptop or desktop, and their data will be tracked automatically.

Record And Annotate On The Go: Free Sonocent Companion App Released for Android

Highlight key information with a tap

Whenever you hear something that you will want to revisit, you can highlight it in colour with a tap. You can also type brief text notes right alongside your recording. This will provide valuable context when you begin creating detailed notes or composing written work.

Add photos alongside your recording

Capturing useful visuals is a cinch with our free app. Simply snap slides or diagrams on the whiteboard with your Smartphone or tablet. Then add the image right alongside the relevant part of your recording.

 

 Pain free file transfer

Once you have taken your recording with the app, you can share the file with Audio Notetaker via WiFi, the Cloud or using a USB cable. The transfer will take just a few seconds. Then you can use the software to take more detailed notes, summaries and transcriptions.
