Sonocent Audio Notetaker is an award-winning study and productivity tool that makes it easy to work with audio. This week, we released Version 4 of the software. The new version includes a range of exciting new features that will transform the way you take notes, capture brainstorm sessions, and plan and compose written work.
So what’s new in Audio Notetaker?
Significantly improved audio quality
So that you can work with recordings captured with almost any device, we have developed an Audio Clean-Up toolkit, which you can use to quickly improve sound quality. Now, the noises that commonly spoil recordings – such as hisses and keyboard clicks – can be reduced or removed.
The toolkit features sophisticated audio processing technology which is the culmination of years of research and testing. It will widen the range of devices that you can use to record, while maintaining excellent audio quality.
If you would like more information on the recording quality delivered by various digital recording devices, please download the Sonocent Guide to Digital Recording Devices. In the report, we run side-by-side comparison tests of various recording devices, and make recommendations for ensuring the best audio quality.
Easier to get up-and-running
We understand how important it is that you can make the most of all the features of Audio Notetaker and feel confident when using it.
So, for Version 4, we have worked with a leading design agency on an improved user interface that will make it quicker and easier to integrate Audio Notetaker into your work or study practice.
The most important change is a new Home Tab, which will help you get started with the software.
Direct from the Home Tab, you can now create new Audio Notetaker projects from a variety of audio sources. Plus you can access a range of useful resources, including five new ‘getting started’ videos, ‘how to’ articles and an in-depth Audio Notetaker tutorial for new users. You can also connect with us on social media or email our support team with any questions, issues or suggestions that you have, straight from the software.
Introducing Audio Replace
For Version 4, we’ve developed Audio Replace. With the tool, you can swap a better quality recording for the original live recording with a click. Audio Replace will then match up section breaks, notes, images and colour markers in a new project.
The result: you can annotate in real-time AND benefit from the best recording quality available, regardless of what hardware you are using. This way you can benefit from recordings taken with a digital recorder placed at the front of the room, and centralised recordings made by the institution where you are recording.
Integration with Dragon NaturallySpeaking
We are pleased to confirm that Audio Notetaker Version 4 includes integration with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
With our new Scribe tool, you can dictate into Audio Notetaker when summarising notes, brainstorming ideas or completing written work. Then transcribe your recording with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 or 13.
This way you can use recorded speech instead of text to plan and draft written work — working in one program instead of many.
